Welcome to the official website for the Karyukai Japanese Tea House from the virtual game Second Life. Karyukai is a virtual Japanese tea house where you can watch geisha dance and play traditinal instruments like the shamisen and koto. We specialize in storytelling and hosting group parties.

Location: Gion Kobu Hanamachi at Aosagi.

Second Life is a virtual game run by Linden Laboratories. The game provides simulations where you can make your dreams come true. The only limits you have are your own imagination.

Karyukai Okiya

The Karyukai Okiya is Second Life's first known geisha school established in August 2006. We specialize in world classes, on the job training, and online courses. We are a modern okiya based on the Kyoto model. The okiya provides training as a virtual peformer in an enriching and suuportive envinronment.

Gion Kobu Hanamachi

Gion Kobu Hanamachi is located in the AosagiGun (Blue Heron)

sim in Second Life. Gion Kobu is based on the real life geisha district

in Kyoto Japan. Gion Kobu has four tea house, Karyukai Tea House,

Tea House Satoharu, Sun Bun Tiny Tea House, and the new Chashitsu. There is a Kabuki theater where virtual plays are held. Special banquets are held in our community center.
